How to Style your new Haircut!! Quick & Effortless

Easy and Effortless ways to Style.

Many of you who do shop with us are our clients at our Sweet Jane Salon storefront located in Hillcrest San Diego and we thought about what would you want to know about home care styling while we are all on lockdown and doing our best to be socially distant and also need some self-care.

And we want you to look your best while doing so without a lot of fuss and also feel good...

Here are our top recommendations to style out your new haircuts and color that's easy and fun, because that's our vibe and lets face it it is getting warmer outside, and we have some free time too, so here goes:

#1. Turbans: air drying is the way to go that's not so hard once you have the right tools. A turban or a small towel used as a head wrap really helps to absorb up all the unwanted water after you wash your hair. Allowing your hair to sit in a turban and dry cuts down on overall styling time and get most of the sopping wetness out.

Its for hair drying too!!

This is also the best time to apply your products to your hair. With less water your hair absorbs more product and its distributed more easily. We suggest a primer (detangling moisturizing spray) and large comb to free up any knots before applying your styling products.

Salt infused conditioning products that add moisture with soft texture are great in creating an easy lived in finish to your hair.

#2. Embrace your hairs natural texture and just go with it. Taking strands of your hair and twisting them in ropes is a modern way of setting hair. Think beachy lived in sun kissed hair that is a bit carefree and organic. No need to straighten hair anymore and still have it be chic and wearable. Learning to love the texture you are born with is so liberating.

#3. Diffuse or not to diffuse. Yes that weird attachment that came with your dryer is perfect as the weather gets warmer and can speed up your drying time, and if not ordering a sock dryer diffuser on amazon works as well too. The idea is to not blast your hair dry anymore, and like the word diffuser, it gently blows air and does a lot to prevent frizz.

#4. Frizz! Dont be afraid of it, what you may think looks absolutely crazy, from our perspective looks casual and carefree. Add a cream or oil after your hair is dry and massage or roll it in. It dramatically alters the appearance of your hair and gives it that undone cool polish that's touchable and your hair never feels crunchy or sticky.

#5. Powder powder powder!! This should be a part of your day 2 after care. Powders absorbs oil and gives your second day hair volume. Choosing one that suits your application style is key, a spray is easy to get overall coverage and a shake or puff is good for targeting hairline and roots.

In the end, effortless hair should be easy, with the right product to help getting there. Add a fun clip or accessory and call it a day.

Can’t wait to see you all in the salon soon, until then take care of yourselves.
